hmm things just got weirder. I found this readme.txt file in one of the sub directory's...........
users.cybanet.net.au/tibbs/moo3/readme.txt
Well to all those who doubted me heres some combat pics........
{i have to say, i'm disapponited combat doesnt have graphics like decent freespace. Oh well, cant have everything
}
I think this is also simply a combat demo........ the rest is sort of there but not too functional.
By the looks of it, this isnt a big thing it was made out to be
Its just some combat. {cant do much in the combat either.........}
Now the question is, do i post this in the MOO3 forum?Last edited by Ibbz; April 11, 2002, 07:41.

This'll be a hoot
Well, Ibbz, you've certainly ensured that today will qualify as interesting.
I signed up for an account here (which may be interesting in its own right).
Your post is almost certainly going to land you in hot water with QSI, whether the material you have is legit or not, and whether it was legally obtained or not.
Look at the screenshots all you want, people -- it's fairly obvious that they're from the E3 build, and therefore bear little to no resemblance to what the final game will look like. For example, Rantz said yesterday that the "side bars" on the main user interface will probably be gone, with only the bottom control bank being needed with the streamlining of the interface.
Furthermore, I strongly urge everyone to exercise extreme caution if you elect to download the executable linked at the site. Not for legal reasons, but technical ones -- this could easily be a shiny new trojan horse, root-kit, or some other form of viral "special delivery".
Remember what your parents told you -- if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. QSI has stated repeatedly that they were not going to do a demo. That makes this material unofficial at best, and illegal at worst, to be in non-QSI hands. I strongly suspect the latter.Xentax@nc.rr.com

GUH!!!!!!!!!!!!
I said the thing i put up on the site was only the html file. the actual EXE isnt THERE {there is no exe there for that matter}. If you QSI wanna *****, they can take it to Pc Powerplay, because soon thousands of other people will have the demo.
I'm takin it all down. The response's i have got are very negative which leads me to believe QS dont want them there. If i see things change, i'll put em back up.Last edited by Ibbz; April 11, 2002, 09:13.

Hmmmm.... i wonder if you can hear the sound of heads rolling in australia from here?...this demo is officially from the Infogrames rep in australia.We tend to scoff at the beliefs of the ancients. But we can't scoff at
them personally, to their faces, and this is what annoys me.

Most of the shots I saw are not new. The rest are as likely to be altered or downright fake, at least IMHO, until there's some external corroboration of Ibbz's claims.
Ibbz, even if I'm wrong, you should still be able to understand my skepticism. You're making unverified claims and sought no prior permission from QSI before publishing this material. There's nothing on the PC PowerPlay website to suggest your claims are valid, either. I simply find it hard to believe they would do something like this without announcing it in advance. I even find it hard to believe that Infogrames would release this, with our without QSI's knowledge/approval.Xentax@nc.rr.com
